The Today Show and CBS both ran video about dogs in the aftermath of the tornado disaster in Joplin, Missouri. The Today Show piece is about dogs that warned their owner early on, which gave him time to seek cover and probably saved his life. CBS offered a video of a dog rescued from the rubble. Both are heartwarming clips in the midst of tragedy that show how strong that bond is between dogs and humans.

Written by: Eric Rickstad

The New York Times ran another piece about the dogs of war in Afghanistan and how these dogs are treated as fellow warriors, Marines that will be defended at all costs. As the article mentions: “Most of the public isn’t aware of what these dogs add to national security.”
