Charlotte, You’ve Spoken! #MyOutdoorsCharlotte

A few weeks ago we announced our #MyOutdoorsCharlotte campaign to help raise money and awareness around the great work of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation (NCWF).

The goal? For every Instagram photo celebrating the outdoors in the greater Charlotte area tagged with #myoutdoorscharlotte, Orvis would donate a $1 up to $5,000 to NCWF and their Catawba River habitat restoration project.

The campaign ended on October 4 and Charlotte has spoken! Thanks to everyone who contributed their images for this great cause. An inspiring 418 photos were shared at the closing bell.

We are very proud to have shared this experience with you and are excited to announce that we’ll donate $2,500 to NCWF to help their efforts in restoring the Catawba.

It seemed like everyone was in on the action. We hope you enjoyed following along with Erica Hanks, Maney at Kiss 95.1, and Taralynn McNitt who helped us get the word out.

Also, Time Warner Cable News Charlotte did a nice interview with NCWF.

And the Charlotte Observer hit the twittersphere with their story.

It was great to see the Charlotte community come together for this shared event in the name of conservation.

And it’s not over yet! Don’t forget, if you head into the Orvis Charlotte retail store and show them your #myoutdoorscharlotte photo, the gang there will give you 20% off your purchase. It’s one more way we’d like to say thanks for helping us help NCWF.

And finally, keep an eye out on the Orvis Instagram feed where we’ll announce the lucky winner of our $100 gift card giveaway.

So give yourselves a pat on the back. You went above and beyond for your beloved Catawba.

Here are just a few of the ways you live your life outdoors. Be sure to pore through them all at #MyOutdoorsCharlotte.
