The Fall River Conservancy (FRC) is nothing if not adaptive. In 2012 Orvis awarded them $20,000 to conduct a Eurasian milfoil pilot project. However, due to natural fluctuations in the density of the milfoil outbreak, this project had to be put on hold.
FRC asked for, and was granted permission to reallocate those funds to a project to protect the unique spring-creek habitat conditions and world-class wild trout populations of the Fall River by identifying key spawning areas, tracking individual fish migration, and establishing accurate baseline wild trout population estimates. Here you get to see some of the results.
