When Lily—a Great Dane who lives in Shrewsbury, England—was still a puppy, veterinarians were forced to remove her eyes because of a rare condition that caused her eyelashes to grow inward. Luckily, according to a story in the Daily Mail, her friend and fellow Great Dane Maddison stepped right in to serve as a guide dog for the now-blind Lily:

“Maddison is Lily’s guide dog. If they are out and about, for the majority of the time Maddison will lead and Lily will walk nearly touching her so she knows where to go. It’s lovely to watch. Maddison is always looking out for her.”

But now the pair is looking for a new home, since their owner had to give them up for unspecified reasons. It’s a tough sell to get someone to adopt two enormous Great Danes, but separating them seems a cruel fate for Lily.
