Iowa Town Bans Veteran’s Service Dog

 

It’s no secret that pit bulls have a bad rap among the general population, and many towns across the country have passed ordinances to either prohibit or regulate ownership of the breed. These laws represent a fundamental misunderstanding of dog behavior, and it seems way over-the-top to deny a veteran—who served both in Viet Nam and for 32 years as a police officer—his beloved and necessary service dog simply because
it is the “wrong” breed. Don’t you agree?
