Last week, my family dog-sat Cayenne—an English Springer Spaniel who belongs to my Orvis colleagues Steve Hemkens (Rod & Tackle) and Molly Urquhart (Men’s)—and she won us all over with her gentle ways and soulful eyes. We took her for many walks in the woods behind our house, where she showed off her field training, as well.

We were all kind of bumming out that she was leaving us on Sunday, so when she lay down in a patch of sunlight, I grabbed my camera to commemorate our time together. She didn’t seem to mind my clicking away, and I was able to get some lovely shots. We can’t wait until Steve and Molly go away again, so we can have Cayenne back in our home.
