Small Texas Shelter Needs Help Finding Homes for Puppy-Mill Dogs

A small shelter in Fort Worth has slashed adoption prices in an effort to find homes for hundreds of dogs taken in over the last week, including 52 small-breeds from a local puppy mill:

The dogs arrived in Fort Worth Friday, which turned out to be terrible timing.

“We took in over 200 animals Friday alone,” Meeks said.

It was a bad day in a near-record-breaking week.

“We took over 650 animals that week,” she said.

Struggling under the financial weight of housing, feeding, and caring for so many animals, the Humane Society of North Texas needs to drive up their adoption rate.
