You may remember our post about the Golden Retrievers sent to comfort Newtown survivors. It’s regrettable that the time for them to be called up again has come so soon, but these wonderful dogs have been dispatched to Boston to provide comfort in the aftermath of Monday’s Boston Marathon attack.
All five dogs from the Lutheran Church Charties’ K-9 Comfort Ministry worked in Newtown as well.
“Animals have an uncanny ability … to discern that you and I have sadness and distress .. Rather than shying away from it, they’re attracted to it. They will literally go in a classroom of children and literally find the child most afraid of something.”
For any interested, you can donate to the LLC Comfort Dog Fund here, and to the One Fund Boston to help the people most affected by the tragic events in Boston right here.
