UPDATE: Veteran Gets His Pit-Bull Service Dog Back

We posted on Tuesday about an Iowa town’s inconceivable decision to force a decorated veteran to give up his service dog because of a townwide ban on pit bulls. Jim Sak, the dog’s owner and beneficiary of his services, sued the town, arguing that the Americans with Disabilities Act supercedes any town ordinances. There’s great news today, as a judge has granted a temporary injunction allowing Snickers the dog to return home until the court case is decided.

“I feel great,” said Sak after Snickers returned home Wednesday. “I got my buddy home. I got my heart back.”

Let’s hope that this court case has an ending that’s just as happy as the touching reunion in the video above.
