Stories about hero dogs are popular here on OrvisNews.com, but we’ve never never seen one about a dog protecting its family on the first day in their home. Lee and Elizabeth Littler of Hillsboro, Ohio, rescued Hercules from a county pound because they feared he’d be put down soon. According to Lee, the goal was to “find him a good home, anything to keep him from being euthanized.”
But on his very first day in the Littler home, Hercules alerted them to the presence of an intruder and then chased the thief over the fence of their back yard. As you might expect, the Littlers have decided to keep the 135-pound Saint Bernard as their own beloved pet. Check out the full story in the video above or read about it on ABC2news.com.
