When the Smith family was living in Dubai, they adopted a dog named Holly, and for the next 18 months, Holly was the beloved pet of young Alyssa Smith. Unfortunately, Alyssa’s father lost his job, which meant that the family would have to return to England. Since they couldn’t afford the quarantine fee for Holly, they were forced to leave her with another family. It was heartbreaking, but, the Smiths were confident that Holly’s new owners were nice people and would take good care of the dog.
Then, by chance, while surfing the Internet, Mrs. Smith saw that Holly had been abandoned and was in danger of being euthanized if someone didn’t adopt her soon.
Mr Smith said: “When there was a chance to bring her home we had to.
“I grumbled about the money but the look on my daughter’s face was a priceless family moment.”
It cost £1,300 and involved numerous vets but Holly finally arrived at their home in Andover last Thursday, and Mr and Mrs Smith were able to spring the happy surprise on their unsuspecting daughter.
The video shows Alyssa’s wonderment, surprise, and overwhelming emotion when she is reunited with her long lost friend. It’s a beautiful thing.
