Attitudes Toward Dogs Slowly Changing in Vietnam

The notion that dogs are raised and killed for meat in some Asian countries has long horrified dog lovers. But according to an article on Mysinchew.com yesterday, attitudes toward dogs seem to be changing with improved economic conditions and a younger generation that’s more likely to see canines as pets. But having a pet dog means having to protect it from “dog-stealing pirates.”

It’s astonishing that such divergent views of dogs can coexist side by side. Let’s hope that the younger generation continues to push for the banning of dog meat.
