A Royal Air Force dog who braved five tours of duty in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan is finally retiring to live out his life in the English countryside. The nine-year-old springer spaniel most recently served in Afghanistan’s deadly Helmand province, where his job was to sniff out explosive vests worn by terrorists. Buster’s amazing nose led to the arrests of two suicide bombers, surely saving many human lives. He also went along on foot patrols looking for Taliban insurgents and tracking down booby-trap bombs.
