The 136th Westminster Kennel Club Annual Dog Show kicks off at New York City’s Madison Square garden on Monday, and it will be televised on both Monday and Tuesday nights. Although we try not to focus too much on pure-breed dogs on this blog, giving mixed breeds and rescues their due, the two days of the WKC show offer the opportunity to spend some time ooh-ing and aah-ing over some of the most gorgeous, pampered, and regal pooches on the planet. Last year’s Best in Show was a stunning Scottish deerhound named Foxcliffe Hickory Wind, who goes by “Hickory.” She was the first of her breed to ever win the grand prize.
