Pusuke, the mixed-breed dog recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest dog in the world, passed away on Monday in his home in Sakura, Japan. Born on April Fool’s Day in 1985, Pusuke lived to be 26 years, 248 days old, which makes him the ninth-oldest dog on record. Bluey, an Australian cattle dog who was born in 1910 and lived until 1939, is still on record as the oldest dog ever.
