This is a few years old, but I’d never seen it before, and it has recently gone viral on YouTube. It’s security footage of a coyote attacking a little Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua-Dachshund mix) named Trixxie and trying to carry her off. But the neighbor’s Rottweiler, Happy, comes charging to the rescue! Happy is none-too-happy about her buddy being taken by a wild interloper.
It’s incredible stuff and speaks to the bravery of dogs when protecting their friends.
To help flesh out the scene, here are the comments of the person who posted the video:
Trixxie ( Our little black dog a chi-weenie ), Happy ( neighbors med size black rottie )
Coyote ( soon to be ex coyote )
Trixxie is on a chain outside ( the only reason she was not carried off )
1. prior to this event no coyote sightings in this area
2. Dog was left outside by spouse while restroom was being used less than 5mins
3. This was 7am in morning ( not a normal time for a coyote / wild animal attack)
4. This is middle of city with no prior history
