Cover Dog Winner: Ranger – English Setter
Owner: Karen P. of Walnut Creek, CA
Karen sent us this background on Ranger: “Southwest English Setter Rescue received a phone call on Valentine’s Day, 2013 from a woman that wanted to surrender a one-year-old English Setter boy. He was a good dog, but too active around their grand-kids. Our setter had passed away several months prior, and we were ready to welcome a new pup into our lives. We worked closely with the folks at SWESR to determine that Ranger was the right match for us – and soon flew him to his furever home with us in CA. Born on Groundhog’s Day, rescued on Valentine’s Day, and adopted on St. Patrick’s Day – every day is now a holiday for this sweet boy!”
SWESR is dedicated to the rescue and rehoming of displaced English setters. The majority of the dogs in their program are rescued after being abandoned or surrendered to shelters. A huge thank you to SWESR for connecting us with Ranger!”
Cover Dog Winner: Otis – Cocker Spaniel
Owner: Alison D. of Bristol, UK
