Sir Wiggleton and his new dad shared a huge smile that went viral. . .so someone had to try to ruin it.
Photo via facebook
On Monday, Detroit Dog Rescue posted the above photo on their Facebook page, and everyone knew that the image would be wildly popular. The accompanying description read:
We know this photo is going to break the internet and we apologize, but we had to share! After almost 100 days in the shelter, Sir Wiggleton just got adopted. Sir Wiggleton and his new Dad are celebrating adoption day with huge smiles all around!
And they were right: the photo got 27,000 likes and more than 6,000 shares.
But some grinches happened to know that the dog’s adopted dad, Dan Tillery, lives in Waterford Township, Michigan, which has an anti-Pit-Bull ordinance on the books. So these fine folks called the police. Sigh.
From the news story linked below, it seems that there may be a happy ending to this story.
