An organization in Connecticut called CT Votes for Animals is trying to get the state to ban the sale of dogs from pet stores unless those animals come from shelters. The state established a task force back in September to study whether or not animals from unscrupulous breeders are being sold in the state.
“Pet stores in Connecticut get their animals from puppy mills, that’s what I’m hoping we can prove with this Task Force,” said Amy Harrell, CT Votes for Animals.
As you might imagine, the 16 pet stores in Connecticut are fighting this tooth and nail, and they claim that they deal only with breeders who have no USDA violations.

Where do I apply to be on this Task force? Can we start one in my home state of New York?
