A Black Labrador retriever named Jedi is being credited with saving the life of his 7-year-old charge, Luke Nutall, last week. According to a Facebook post that has since gone viral, Luke’s mom explained what happened:

No alarms were going off, no one was checking blood, no one was thinking about diabetes, and it’s in those moments when our guards are down, when we are just living life, when we let our minds drift from diabetes, that it has the upper hand-and things can get scary very fast…but thankfully we have a Jedi.

The dog jumped on Dorrie Nutall to alert her that something was wrong with the boy’s blood sugar, allowing her to help her son in time to stop a disaster. Click the links below to hear more about this remarkable dog and his life-saving moment.
