A four-man Swedish team had trained for months to compete in the Adventure Racing World Championshipswhich included biking, running and kayakingin the jungles of Ecuador. But what they couldn’t prepare for was adding a new team member at the last minute. Just as they were about to embark on a 24-mile hike, a stray dog wandered up to them. Seeing that he was hungry, they fed him a meatball, and he was suddenly their best friend, unwilling to let them get away. You’ll hardly believe what the dog went through or what these extreme athletes sacrificed to bring him to the finish line. Now Arthur is on his way to a forever home in Sweden with team captain Mikael Lindnord.
