We have posted many times about the courage and sacrifices of dogs who serve in the military, both in combat and as service dogs for returned veterans. On January 1, during the Tournament of Roses Parade, the first national monument to military dogs will be unveiled. The U.S. Working Dog Teams National Monument was designed by John Burnham, a 65-year-old veteran dog handler, and honors every dog that has served in combat since World War II.
