Last week witnessed a great rescue on the icy waters of Lake Michigan off Chicago, and the story has a very happy ending. Pifas, a three-year-old Duck Tolling Retriever who had been missing for more than a week, found himself trapped on floating ice, where he was spotted by passersby. The Chicago Fire Department employed a special boat and a helicopter to get the dog to shore, but it was a local man in his kayak who saved the day.
