Kids Read Bedtime Stories to Shelter Dogs

Shy, fearful, and stressed-out dogs are less likely to get adopted from a shelter because they don’t readily engage with folks who come looking for a new pet. But the Book Buddies Reading Program at one Missouri shelter has a solution: Kids from ages 5 to 16 read to the shelter dogs, which helps them learn to engage with people and grow in confidence. What a wonderful program for both the dogs and the kids!
