Last week, we posted about a dog who was the first of his species to climb part of Mount Everest, and now here comes a story about a Pit Bull named Moose who has hiked the entire 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine. Moose and his owner, 39-year-old Illinois man Danny Comeaux, started at Springer Mountain in Georgia on April 6. Comeaux felt that he had something to prove to himself and his young boys, and he felt that Moose’s journey would serve a purpose, as well:

“I wanted (Moose) to be that ambassador, to show that (pit bulls) can be amazing creatures, and he did a phenomenal job out there,” Danny said.

The pair finished their journey by reaching the summit of Maine’s Mount Katahdin on September 6.
