Here’s a great story about a veterinarian who has discovered a great way to make a big difference in the animal world. Dr. Glenn Buckley has practiced in his hometown of Akron, New York (outside Buffalo) for years, and he recently teamed up with his computer-technician brother, Scott, to start an online pet pharmacy with a twist. Modeled on the Newman’s Own model, the Buckleys are using their professional skills to help others:
As a veterinarian I was able to help one pet at a time. Through Pet Rescue Rx we can help so many more. I have seen first hand the need of animal shelters both large and small to continue the amazing job they do. Pet Rescue Rx will provide continuing financial support to shelters from the purchases you make. 100% of the net profits will be given to shelters selected by our customers. So you can directly support the shelter of your choice.
Paul Newman’s company has raised more than $380 million over the past 30-odd years. Let’s hope that Dr. Buckley’s experiment can provide similar (although obviously smaller-scale) benefits for shelters around the country.
