Video: Service Dog Helps Mom Change Diapers

For a disabled woman, a newborn baby presents a variety of problems. Cheryl Alexander suffers from a nerve disease that makes bending or moving very painful. If you’ve ever changed an infant’s diaper, you know that it’s all about bending and moving. That’s where Alexander’s service dog, a Golden Retriever named Orca, comes in:

Since Alexander became a mother a few months ago, Orca helps out with the dirty business of changing diapers. He helps fetch the changing mat, wipes and a new diaper before helping take off Lily’s onesie and even tossing the old diaper.

While this is wonderful, it’s not the first time Orca has been in the news. In 2003, the dog saved Alexander’s life after her wheelchair fell in a ditch. Click here for the full story on that rescue.
