Photos: A Young Entrepreneur and Her Beloved Dog, Lyla

A few years ago, a University of Vermont Student named Galen Mooney worked at Orvis on a summer internship, and she blew us away with her skills, work ethic, and intelligence. We were sorry to see “the world’s greatest intern” go at the end of that summer, and we surprised her by making her pup, Lyla, our Orvis Dog of the Day.

Galen now lives in Boston, where she is building her own Internet-marketing business, Success Measured, and when she needed some photos for her new website, she turned to her friend and photographer Karen Kelly. In talking about the photo shoot, Karen asked what Galen’s passions were, and Lyla was at the top of the list. So the beautiful dog made it into many of the photos. I think Lyla’s inclusion tell the viewer a lot about Galen. . .all of it positive.
