The Anne Arundel County Public Library in Crofton, MD hosts a very popular program for young readers called “Reading with Ladybug”. Therapy dog Ladybug, a Yorkshire Terrier, is trained to be a gentle, appreciative audience, encouraging children to develop their out-loud reading skills. All the program lacked was a cozy place for kids to snuggle and read with their diminutive therapist. Thanks to a donation of an Orvis Lounger Deep Dish Dog Bed, that problem has been solved.

“The kids are LOVING this program”, reports Librarian Brigit Gruenberg. “I have a waiting list now, and am talking with two other therapy dog owners to bring them in. What I didn’t expect was Ladybug’s happiness about the new bed. When she arrives, she runs to get in her bed, then has to jump in and out a few times before settling in. So, thank you again from all of us, including Ladybug”.
