Reigning Wimbledon Champion Andy Murray Stops Traffic to Save a Stray Dog


The most famous tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon, got underway at the All England Club in London yesterday, but there were heroics of a different sort on Sunday morning. Andy Murray, who is reigning champion, was on his way to an early morning practice, when he say a stray dog in the road.

Rather than simply getting on with his important preparations for Wimbledon, Murray pulled his car over, stopped oncoming traffic, and caught the dog. This wouldn’t surprise Murray’s fans, who know how devoted he is to his own pooch, Maggie Mae, who is a bit of a Twitter star.

So now, even if you’re not a tennis fan, you have someone to root for in the Men’s competition this week!
