Shelter Finds Forever Home for “Ugly and Depressed” Dog

A Virginia shelter had tried to find a home for Tristan, a nine-year-old Doberman-Rottweiler mix, for almost a year with no luck. Folks who came into Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society sometimes commented that the dog was “ugly,” which upset shelter workers who knew what a good boy he was. A facebook groups called Susie’s Senior Dogs posted photos of Tristan, along with a message that began, “‘Can you believe that visitors who see him at his shelter have the nerve to call him “ugly”? He’s been looking for his home since January. He needs a human!'” What happened next was magical.
