If you are a regular reader, you will know we’ve been following the story of the Sochi dogs closely. Now, Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska has opened a shelter called PovoDog. It’s a move in the right direction, as the shelter hopes to help these pups long after all the Olympic athletes have headed home. Though they prefer to spare a majority of the dogs the stress of international travel and adopt them out to families closer to home, the shelter will arrange to ship pups out of the country. Find out more about the shelter and the larger effort to begin to solve the source of the stray problem with public education right here.
