Two best friends are working together to make life a little easier. Eve, a deaf mixed breed, and Dillon, a blind border collie blend, met this past year in a California shelter after each were abandoned by their owners. Now, the two pups have formed an inseparable team to combat their disabilities. Remaining side by side throughout the day, the pups combine their working senses to make up for the functions they lack. The combination allows the canine cohorts to navigate and play just like any other dog. ABCNews spoke with the shelter director, Zach Skow:

“They are perfect for one another in the way they watch out for one another,” said Skow. “Each has never been more at ease than when they are together.”

Finding a home for any disabled rescue pup is difficult, but a pair represents an additional challenge. Skow took to social media to help spread Dillon and Eve’s remarkable story. His efforts paid off. Just recently, the shelter announced that both Eve and Dillon were adopted—together! The pups will have the opportunity to continue their companionship in a loving new home.
