Famous Author Offers Unique Reward for the Return of His Lost Beagle

Offering a reward for the return of a lost dog is certainly nothing new, but here’s an example of a dog owner who can make his dog’s rescuer actually famous. Novelist Dennis Lehane—best known for works such as Mystic River, Shutter Island, and Gone, Baby, Gone—is hoping for the return of his beloved beagle, Tessa, who slipped away from Lehane’s Boston home on Christmas Eve. He has generated a lot of interest by promising to name a character in his next book after the person who returns Tessa.

The latest news is that Lehane now believes that Tessa was stolen, lured into a car. He finds himself in the midst of the kind of mystery that he usually writes about.
