Chicago-area dog owners are being asked to keep their pups at home, as a vicious strain of canine influenza spreads throughout the region. So far, five dogs have died and more than 1,000 have fallen ill, and the end of the outbreak is not yet in sight. The illness is spread through nose-to-nose contact, so anyplace where dogs congregatedog parks, doggy day care, etc.poses a risk. Let’s hope veterinarians can get this disease under control soon.
