Video: Dog Owners From Around the World Post Pictures to Cheer Up Sick Arizona Teen

FOX 10 News | fox10phoenix.com

When 16-year-old Anthony Lyons would get down in the dumps during his treatment for leukemia, the arrival of a therapy dog would always cheer him up. But the dogs couldn’t be there all the time, of course. So a family friend had a brilliant idea: she set up a Facebook page where folks could post pictures of their dogs for Anthony to look at. Because dog owners love showing others their best friends, and because the dog-loving community is often very generous, the idea went viral, and there are now hundreds of thousands of images of cute pups on the site. And looking at these wonderful photos does help. The creator of the Facebook page, Roberta Lucero-Koron, recently wrote:

Anthony is smiling joyfully because of YOU..This has gotten so viral that it is making local and soon National News….One thing I have to say is, make yourself smile too by looking at these beautiful animals that God gave us. I can’t stop crying from tears of happiness.

I’m going to post a picture of my pooch, Pedey, right now.
