Here’s a remarkable story from the coast of southern England. A nine-year-old Springer Spaniel named Sprigs went missing more than a week ago, and his family searched everywhere for him. Eight days later, the crew of a lifeboat crew saw something moving along a steep cliff leading down to the ocean. At first, they thought some sheep were trapped, but as they got closer, they realized it was a dog:
‘He was about 30ft above the water and we couldn’t work out how he had got in that position,’ said helmsman Andrew Escott.
‘He had clearly been there for some time because he was licking water off my dry suit. And he did seem rather pleased to see us.’
The video above shows the dramatic rescue, and the members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution boat crew deserve high praise.
