Just before the 4th of July, we always post about how the holiday is the number-one time for dogs to run off and go missing. When a New Hampshire logger named Jake Higgins spotted a stray dog wandering deep in woods of the White Mountains, he contacted the Conway Are Humane Society for help. The shelter’s operations manager, Debra Cameron, videotaped the rescue, which turned out to be just in time, as the dog seemed to be struggling. The Good Samaritans carried the exhausted, hungry dog all out of the woods.
