A dog separated from his original family for over nine years instantly recognized their faces upon their reunion, following the family’s cross-country road trip to reclaim him. Boozer, a 10-year-old boxer mix, was given up at the Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden, Colorado, after his owners said they could no longer take care of him. A microchip scan determined that Boozer originally belonged to a family in Tennessee. Shelter staff members then began the task of locating the family.
