Here’s a heartwarming story from Boston, about a dog who showed remarkable compassion and bravery in the wake of an accident. John Miles was crossing a busy street with his 8-year-old Beagle-mix, Lucy, when the pair was struck by a speeding car, which then drove off. Miles was knocked nearly unconscious and suffered a broken arm and two broken legs, and Lucy was badly injured, as well.
Despite her injuries, Lucy guarded Miles from oncoming traffic and then limped to a nearby dentist’s office, where she barked until help arrived. She is being lauded for her heroism, but she also will need surgery for a torn knee ligament.
Bravo, Lucy, and get well soon!
