Here’s a very troubling story about the service-dog industry in general, as well as a particular breeder in Virginia. Three families claim that they have spent tens of thousands of dollars for supposedly well-trained diabetic-alert dogs but have received something far less. It’s kind of shocking to hear a member of the industry say that the service-dog world is “rife with fraud.” This is not fair to the people who hope to receive life-changing assistance, nor is it fair to the dogs.
