In 2007, a terrified Pit Bull was one of more than 50 dogs rescued from the compound of Michael Vick in Virginia, in what was the most famous dog-fighting-ring bust of all time. Many believed that the dogs rescued were too far gone to benefit from rehabilitation, but the folks at at Best Friends Animal Society disagreed. That terrified dog, now named Cherry Garcia, is proof that they were right.
The above video discusses Cherry’s transformation from tragic case to beloved family dog, and he was the recipient of a “Dog’s Best Day” from Barkpost. Seeing the outpouring of love for this dog whose life began in such horrible circumstances will warm your heart.
