Here’s a touching video posted by
National Mill Dog Rescue, an organization whose “mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog-breeding industry.” The description they wrote under the video is both heartbreaking and joyful:
Lizzy spent 12 long years living in a small cage in a puppy mill. She never once touched the ground. National Mill Dog Rescue rescued her early in March 2013 and she immediately went to a loving home. This video shows her in the grass for the very first time. Prepare yourself for tears of joy!
It will be a great day when puppy mills are no longer the norm, and dogs like this one feel the ground beneath their feet almost every day of their lives.
