Back in January, we posted about Joanne Lefson and her dog Oscar, who became the first pooch to travel around the world. Sadly, Oscar passed away earlier this year. But just a few months later, Lefson met Rupeea starved, homeless strayin a garbage dump in India:
Lefson brought Rupee back home with her to South Africa, where she nursed him back to health. Once Lefson saw that Rupee was strong enough, she decided to bring him along with her on her planned expedition to the top of Mount Everest, the world’s tallest mountain.
What an incredible achievement, and what better advertisement for dog rescue and adoption?

ok ok ok… I’ll be that guy….
but did the dog SUMMIT the mountain?
j/k still an awesome story… Rescue a pet people.
No, Rupee did not summit. It’s hard to find a supplemental-oxygen system for a pooch. 😉
