We have posted many times about the bravery of military working dogs, and now their service will be memorialized in a big way in Columbia, South Carolina. For years, Vietnam veteran Johnny Mayo has been working and raising money to make this memorial a reality, and it will finally be dedicated this fall:
Mayo says this will be the largest war dog memorial in the entire United States. He says, “With the scale of the statue the statue helmet to the granite with the dog handler on his knee he’s 8 feet tall, it’s going to be a world class monument.”
