Singapore, like many Asian nations, is seeing an increase in dog ownership, but unfortunately that means a concurrent increase in abandoned dogs. One of the reasons for such a high number of unwanted dogs is that people take on the responsibility without really knowing what it entails. The Singapore S.P.C.A. decided to make a very basic video to inform the public about the responsibilities and considerations to heed before committing to dog ownership.
I think every pet shop and shelter should make this available to potential dog owners. Much of this is commonsense information, but laying it all out in one place drives home that the decision to get a dog should not be a light one.
