Here’s a fundraising model that’s genius lies in how little it asks of the giver. It comes from Pedigree of New Zealand, and here’s how it works:
YouTube has a feature called monetization. Long story short, if you create your own content and it’s approved, YouTube will place ads inside or near the video. Whoever uploaded the content then earns 55% of the advertising revenue. How much this works out to be depends on a couple of factors, such as the type of ads and the pricing of ads appearing with the video. But remember, in this case, all money raised goes toward feeding, treating and finding homes for dogs in need.
So now you can watch all these cute pups and feel as if you’re doing charity work. Of course, this shouldn’t supercede any real, local work you can do for dog charities.
