2012 Orvis Days Start This Week!

Every spring and fall, Orvis retail stores host Orvis Days celebrations, featuring great deals, special offers, food, drink, and live music. Many stores also offer special seminars on a variety of topics, from fly fishing, to dogs, to art. For example, here’s just some of what’s happening on Saturday at the Flagship Store in Manchester, Vermont:

• 10am-12pm: Meet the Product Developers
Orvis is excited to introduce the new Helios 2 Fly Rod and Silver Sonic
Waders. Come cast the new rod and chat with the Rod and Tackle team that keeps Orvis at the forefront of fly fishing innovation.

• 11am: Intro to Two-Handed Casting (Spey & Switch)
Join Orvis Casting Instructor Peter Kutzer for a primer on casting twohanded rods. He will demonstrate how to properly rig and cast these rods in a variety of fishing situations.

• 1pm: Tom Rosenbauer: The “Voice of the Orvis Podcast”
Tom will join us to share his secrets to fishing small streams. Tom will cover everything from what rod to use and his favorite fly patterns to how to find your own secret small streams. Book signing to follow.

• 3pm: Fly Fishing 101 Intro Casting Lessons
Join Orvis instructors to learn the basics of fly casting. It’s free! Please RSVP as space is limited.

• Therapy Dogs of Vermont
Representatives will be at the store and available to answer your questions or speak about local therapy dog opportunities.
