Welcome to another edition of the OrvisNews.com Friday Film Fest, in which we scour the Internets for the best fly-fishing footage available. Bonefish on the Fly from Costa Sunglasses on Vimeo.
Here’s some cool old footage of famed Florida Keys guide Jimmie Albright (you may have heard of his eponymous knot) guiding the host for bonefish. . .as well as a little extra action. I love the way the voice-over pronounces Miam-ah at the beginning of the film.
J. L. POWELL FILMS: Bonefishing the Flats of the Bahamas from J. L. Powell on Vimeo.
Next up is an angler’s return to the Outer Bahamas, with cool angling footage and some discussion of what returning to the islands means to him.

France is known for its fly fishermen—who have won the FIPS-Mouche World Championship several times in the last decade—but not so much for its actual fishing. Based on this video, they’ve got plenty of good water.
ALL RISE from bryan huskey on Vimeo.
I’ve always wanted to fish the Skwala hatch out West but have never had the opportunity. This video makes me want to go even more. It also does a great job of capturing the camaraderie of fishing with your buddies—the ribbing, the insults, and the shared successes. Plus, it features big fish being caught on a pink rod.
Autumn Fishing from Steve Omischl on Vimeo.
Finally, we’ve got a beatuiful look at fall fishing on Utah’s Provo River, featuring cool shots of rising fish and hatching mayflies. Fall seems a long time ago, and I can’t wait for spring to be here.
