out: these films are deadly good. Daley

Welcome to another Friday the 13th edition of the Friday Film
Festival. (Watch out for that guy on the marquee; he looks like a bait dunker.) My intros are short because I’m out in Missoula, Montana, at the
Orvis Western Guide Rendezvous with a couple hundred of my best fishing
buddies. So enjoy this week’s selection. Remember, we surf so you don’t have
to. But if you do stumble upon something great that you think is worthy of
inclusion in a future FFF, please post it in the comments below. See you
next week with a fresh set of films!
Montana Hopper Assault 2011 – Prairie
Stream 1 – vol. 1 from sweetmal1 on Vimeo.
Can you sense that
the warm days of summer are coming? Here’s some sweet hopper action to fuel
those daydreams.
Permit in Belize from Helge Dahlen on Vimeo.
I still haven’t
caught a permit, and videos such as this one make that hurt even more.
From our friends at
Tightline Productions comes this cool video of Orvis’s Jim Lepage catching a
ridiculous lake trout on a 5-weight rod. His reaction says it all.
This video has a little bit of
everything (warning: including a few f-bombs), and it will get you pumped up
for all the great fishing to come over the next six months.
Flats of the Third Coast from FP Media on Vimeo.
Big-lip golden bones
and a story about the the ability of wind to drive a man insane.
Here’s one great reason to head
to Russia: killer Atlantic salmon fishing on the Umba River.
I fished the Blackfoot
yesterday, hoping to see a bull trout. We didn’t catch one, so this video
will have to do.
Reel Men Productions: The North Shore
Diaries from Storm Carroll
on Vimeo.
Here’s some
great footage from a film in production called “The North Shore Diaries.”
Looks like this one’s gonna be good.
Add another country to the FFF
“life list”: Oman, on the Ariabian Peninsula, where they apparently have
permit. Who knew?
Small Stream, Big Trout: Part Two from
Jason du Pont on Vimeo.
More great Montana
action from Jason du Pont and friends.
Good times on New Zealand’s South
Island, featuring some gorgeous brown trout, of course.
This isn’t the
greatest video, but it features one of the coolest-looking brown trout ever.
At first I thought the brilliant red was an added special effect, but I
can’t see how that would be possible.
Here’s the latest edition of
“The New Fly Fisher,” featuring Tom Rosenbauer on the Restigouche River.
Good stuff. Have a great weekend!
